Extreme Home Makeover God's Edition

We spent the week-end at a family retreat.
The Theme was
Extreme Home Makeover-God's Edition.
John 14:23(NASB)
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
When one starts a Home Makeover you often find that you get one thing fixed and another thing needs to be fixed. Some times one needs to tear everything down to the ground. One may have to change the ground too.
We have to have the right foundation.
1 Corinthians 3:11 (NASB)
11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
We have to choose the strong foundation.
Matthew 7:24-27  (NASB)
The Two Foundations
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
We have to build strong exterior walls based on God's principals and not the world's way of thinking.
Exterior Walls have to be torn down. We have to change the way our families look and react  to the world.
1 Corinthians 15:33 (NASB)
33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
Ephesians 5:16 (NASB)
16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
Interior Walls have to be torn down by God.
He is the only one that knows which ones can be removed and the home still stand firmly.
Ephesians 2:14 (NASB)
14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,
Mark 3:25 (NASB)
25 If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.
God is the only One who can heal the family relationships.
Ephesians 5:33
(NASB)
33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.
Ephesians 6:1-4 (NASB)
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.  Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
The Extreme Home Makeover-God's Edition is about changing the things  our families participates in.
We live in the world but we are not of this world.
Romans 12:2 (NASB)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
It was about making the changes in our families lives that are going to lead them to heaven.
Daniel 12:3 (NASB)
Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
If you have ever tried to do a  Home Makeover, you know how hard it can be.
