I am a retired Early Childhood Teacher.
Children have always been my passion.
However, it took me a long time to figure that out.
I did a lot of other things before I taught.
God finally brought me to my senses and put me
in Early Childhood where I belonged.
Everywhere I go, three and four years olds lock
their eyes in on me.
They will be staring at me with a smile on their face.
They come up to me and say Hi or tell me something about themselves.
My husband used to say, "Do you know them?"
Now he just knows that is the way it is.
I thank God that He gave me the talent of little children coming to me. It blessed my life beyond my imagination to work with these little ones.
I have many passions in life but Jesus Christ is the only one that matters for eternity.
2 Peter 3:18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
God has allowed me to go to Zambia, Africa four times.
My husband went to Zambia before I did. He told me that I would not be able to go because the conditions are so difficult. After he described it to me and showed me pictures, I should have balked at the thought of going. I wanted to go when he did and I wanted to go after he did. I never stopped wanting to go. Two years later I went for the first time.
There is nothing about Zambia that is comparable to my regular life.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
It was by the grace of God and through His power that I could do it.
Matthew 28: 18-20
And Jesus came up and spoke to them saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I command you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
That is by far the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life. Nothing compares.
We do medical mission with a heavy emphasis on teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many people are baptized.
We also teach classes on the days in between the medical missions.
I have helped the dentists on the medical missions.
This is in a village that I have been to three times. We are in one room of the Head Man's Home. Oh my, I can scarcely believe I have been blessed to do this.
Back home: I do many things. Take care of my husband when he isn't taking care of me. We have been married many years and he is the biggest human blessing I have. He is a man after God's own heart. He is wonderful, kind and I might add very handsome. I love him with all my heart. I have two embroidery machines that I use to supplement retirement income.
We have one son who has struggled with drugs for a long time now. UPDATE: 11-14-2012-Our son has been trying to let God clean his life up since June of 2012. He determined he had had it with the drug use. He has rededicated his life to God. He is teaching other struggling addicts the way of Jesus Christ. He has been working since June and meeting his own needs. I.E. paying rent, buying food, among other things. I realize it is a fine line he walks so I continue to praise God and thank Him for where He has brought our son. However, we all walk that fine line with sin ever moment of every day. Our only hope is Jesus Christ's cleansing blood.
1 Corinthians 3: 21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you--not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Drug or alcohol addiction is a terrible thing for a person to deal with.
It is a terrible thing for a Mom and Dad to deal with too.
We serve a mighty God and He hears our prayers. He is the one I put my trust in.
Ephesians 3: 20-21
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly
beyond all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works within us,
to Him be the glory
in the church and in Christ Jesus
to all generations forever and ever, Amen.

DeleteI had to click the link from The Family Home and Life blog because your blog name comes from my favorite verse! My husband and I are also Christians, and also have a child that has chosen the path of drugs. Two things we have in common, and we couldn't imagine dealing with the second without the first. I am excited to explore your blog more!
ReplyDeleteIt is a pleasure to meet you. You are just the reason I am writing this blog. I want to bring peace and comfort to lives. It was hard for me to share about our son's struggle with drugs but it is something that is necessary. I will be praying for your child who is struggling. Never, never give up hope. Pray with all your might, believing that God will answer. Know that He may not answer the way we want but He is mighty and He will work a mighty work where He sees fit. At this time it seems that our son has come to his senses and turned back to God. God is the only one who can help them defeat satan in this. Prayers for you and your family. Blessings to you. If you ever need to talk you can email me at shelia1968@ymail.com. I do not know the answers but I do know the ONE who has them.

I really enjoyed reading your about me. I also have a son struggling with drug addiction. It's so very hard to know the right thing to do. Things do not become easier when they get older. Tammy @ http://www.yoursandmineareours.blogspot.com
